The European Lead Factory, an international consortium of pharmaceutical companies, academia and research organizations has initiated a new platform to improve European drug discovery, per a recent article on pharmtech.com.  In a five year time frame, the 30 partner consortium plans to screen a library of compounds collected from both industry and academia, in hopes of expediting the drug discovery process. The estimated 500,000 compounds collected will be screened at two sites, Scotland and the Netherlands.  Europe’s Innovative Medicines Initiative is funding this project.  To read the full article, click here.
