Last week, the European Commission decided to reject a petition to ban animal testing. This petition was signed by 1.2 million people. Although the European Commission rejected the petition, it did make comments that it believes testing drugs on animals should eventually decrease in the future; however, at the present time it is difficult to accomplish and remains a challenge to identify suitable replacement for test subjects.
